There are quite a few things that I feel need to be done to be a true ISU student. First, I need to go to as many sports events that I possibly can. Second, I need to try the food from every place on campus and in campustown. Lastly, and most importantly, I need to make a lot of connections while I am here.
Okay... So lets start off with my first need. The reason that I think that I need to go to as many sports events as I possibly can, is because of the fact that when I was in high school, I went to every sports event at the varsity level that I could think of that I was not participating in. I also find it essential to try and become a fan of the school's team. I am having a rather hard time with that, but it could change after enough attempts.
Second, that is a completely different story. I think that in order for me to become a true ISU student, I need to know a lot about the local area. If someone asks me where they can get something good to eat, I need to be able to tell them what is a good place, and what is a bad place. I think that the more a person knows about a place, the more it is going to feel like home to them.
Lastly, I think that I need to make connections here that are going to be lifelong. Regardless of if it is just friends, a girl, or even a possible employer, I feel that it is very important for me to make a lot of good connections in this first year. This is going to be the easiest, and one of the most fun things that I think I will be doing on campus.
I also have some goals that I hope to achieve in life. They are:
ride a bull
drive at speeds of over 200 mph
bat against a person throwing a 90 mph fastball
go skydiving
go bungy jumping
deep sea fishing
have children
have a successful career
get married
and lastly retire and travel to random places
